TECNALIA ( is a private non-profit organization that was set up in 2010 from the merger of 8 existing technology research centres. TECNALIA is the leading private and independent research and technology entity in Spain, fifth largest in Europe. TECNALIA employs more than 1,475 people (188 PhDs) and its turnover is €113 million, it filed 58 patents, has 4.000 clients and 28 spin-offs (2011). It is very active in the FP7 having already gained more than 264 projects, coordinating 64 of them. TECNALIA is very active in the Seventh Framework Programme and European tenders, participating, at the end of 2010, in 169 funded projects, 34 of them as the coordinator. TECNALIA has also an active role in the European Technology Platforms, with presence in at least 30 platforms and 10 High Level Groups.


Tecnalia will lead WP3. It will also be involved in WP1, WP2 (all tasks), WP4, WP5, WP6 (specifically tasks 6.1 and 6.2) and WP7.
